Nutrition Assessments
Nutrition assessments are a good way to discover how good or bad your eating habits actually are and they give us a good starting point for your new, healthier habits. By incorporating your daily food and beverage intake along with your daily physical activity, I can set you up on a very specific, individualized meal plan. The great thing about these meal plans is that they are good, healthy meals that the entire family will enjoy. The meals are made with healthy foods found at your local grocer or market and they are easy to make and tasty alternatives to the packaged, processed, unhealthy foods found in restaurants and on the supermarket shelves.
The assessments not only show you how many fats, carbohydrates and proteins you consume each day, but they also allow me to make suggestions on possible vitamin and mineral supplements that may be benficial to your overall health. The assessments break down each individual food item you consume, so we can go back and find out exactly which foods are the most unhealthy. By breaking down your food intake, I can educate you on making accomodations in your daily meals if you really have to have you "fix".
The meal plans do not have to be followed 100%, but they give you a really good idea of healthy foods that you should incorporate into your overall health plan. I always include extra recipes like smoothies, healthy snack ideas, good sources of particlar nutrients, and other healthy tips.
My goal is to educate and guide you to be an imformed consumer and learn how to make healthy food choices that you can continue to follow for a lifetime. These are not "quick-fix", magic pill gimmicks.
I advise follow-ups every 4-6 weeks, so I can answer any questions or concerns you may have about the meal plans. I am always available to answer your questions in between our consultations. Another benefit of the follow-ups, is that research shows that people who meet with a nutritionist on a monthly basis, have better success in reaching their goals and developing long-term healthy habits.
